BOOK A
MEETING
Managed Services/Onboarding & Transition

A transition designed to be a non-event.

Changing managed-services provider is the moment most things go wrong — so we engineer the risk out of it. A structured twelve-week plan takes you from discovery to a measured, governed, SLA-backed service, with continuity overlap against your incumbent, secure credential transfer, early backup validation and ITIL change control throughout. By week 12 you have a service under SLA and an agreed roadmap.

The plan

Four phases, twelve weeks.

Each phase has a defined outcome and a milestone you can hold us to. Nothing goes live before it is ready, and the incumbent stays in place until the handover is proven.

Weeks 1–2

Discovery & planning

Workshops; capture of assets, contracts, policies and risks; a transition plan; and governance assignment. Milestone: discovery complete, plan approved.

Weeks 2–4

Onboarding & knowledge transfer

Service-desk onboarding, access transfer, shadow support, and monitoring / reporting dashboards stood up. Milestone: knowledge transfer complete, dashboards live.

Weeks 4–6

Service transition

MSP go-live and SOC monitoring, SLA measurement begins, an initial vulnerability and patch review, the first governance pack, and user communications. Milestone: desk & SOC under SLA.

Weeks 6–12

Optimisation & roadmap

Performance optimisation, early quick wins (licence optimisation, network improvements), and the first QBR. Milestone: first QBR and agreed roadmap.

Risk, engineered out

The handover, made safe.

Most transition risk is predictable — so we plan for each part of it explicitly rather than hoping it goes smoothly.

Continuity overlap

We run in overlap with the incumbent and provide weekly stakeholder updates, so there is never a gap in coverage during the move.

Secure credential transfer

Credentials move under MFA-protected, controlled processes — no spreadsheets of passwords, no shared mailboxes.

Early backup validation

Backups are validated and a recovery tested early in the transition — because inheriting an untested backup is inheriting an unknown.

ITIL change control

Every change runs through structured change management from day one, so the transition itself is governed and auditable.

Defined governance structure

vCIO for strategy and risk, Service Delivery Manager for operations and SLAs, Security Operations Lead for SOC and compliance — clear ownership from the start.

Clear escalation

A defined escalation path through to executive stakeholders, with critical security incidents notified to executives within 30 minutes.

Milestones

What “done” looks like, week by week.

By Milestone
Week 2 Discovery complete; transition plan approved
Week 4 Knowledge transfer complete; monitoring & reporting dashboards live
Week 6 Service desk & SOC operating under SLA
Week 12 First Quarterly Business Review held; roadmap agreed

Make your next provider change a non-event.

A TCO review is the first step: we audit what you have, compare it like-for-like, and map the transition — so you can see exactly how a move would run before you commit to anything.
